Equinox Complete Review - Lyd & Bilde - Norway
01 Nov 2002
Australian Hit – There are many good mini monitors on the market, but few can measure up against the little Equinox model from the Australian Krix, when it comes to music experience per Krone.
The treble rendering is a clear as glass, and the best one can obtain for the money. At high listening levels the treble on some types of music became a touch offensive and striking, but on the other hand, transients are a very important development consideration. Rarely have we heard a more transient, lively loudspeaker in this price class.
Midrange has plenty of detail, and draws enormous width in the stereo perspective. The imaging regularity is good and single musicians are placed firmly where they belong – on the stage. The loudspeaker naturally doesn’t go gulf deep, and any powerful deep bass is not talked about. Sensible placement and the Equinox loudspeakers will command a tight and valued bass that never tries to make out it’s anymore than it can control. The Krix Equinox loudspeakers must undoubtedly be characterized as a hit of the rare kind and must be checked out if you are in the hunt for loudspeakers in this price class.
