Updated Epicentrix Review From Dan Tan
22 May 2007
Now that I have had my new Krix Epicentrix for about 3 weeks and it has been run-in sufficiently, I shall write more about this amazing new centre channel loudspeaker from Krix.
The first thing you will notice about the Epicentrix is its size. It is a HUGE centre channel loudspeaker. It is certainly among the largest centre channel loudspeakers one can purchase for domestic use. This centre channel loudspeaker is most certainly heavy. This is a 24kg unit.
The build quality of the Epicentrix is excellent. Like all Krix loudspeakers, the Epicentrix is a loudspeaker you won't be ashamed to show off and was designed and manufactured to be a perfect partner for Krix's Neuphonix tower loudspeakers.
The Epicentrix is a genuine 3-way, 6-driver (4 bass drivers, 1 midrange driver, and 1 dual concentric tweeter), 4 ohm, 200 watt, centre channel loudspeaker and surely has the Krix sound. Walk into a local cinema, and you will hear the same Krix sound.
Dialogue is loud and clear, bass response is quick and powerful, and you can hear dialogue clearly, even when seated at a 45-degree angle to the Epicentrix! This is because of the vertical alignment of the midrange and tweeter.
Recommended retail price is AUD$1,900.00, which is a lot of money for a centre channel loudspeaker, but, this is no ordinary centre channel loudspeaker. The centre channel loudspeaker is the single most important and crucial loudspeaker in any Home Theatre System, therefore, invest in the Epicentrix, and you will have many years of happy listening.
